Why This Website?

Problem solving is essential to all human activities. We can become better at work and life by solving the right problems and solving them well. The skills and knowledge are easily learned.

The word problem usually has negative connotations in day-to-day conversations. Not so, here. A problem is what we must solve to go from where we are today to where we wish to be. There is nothing inherently negative about changing our current state to our desired state. It is about continually bettering our circumstances.

This website is for my students and for anyone interested in learning about problem solving. It is educational in purpose.

The topics written about are of two types: those that are self-contained and those that build on one another. The former can be seen by scrolling down the main page. The latter appear in chapters that can be found using the navigation panel. I have prepared worksheets that can be used to apply the frameworks presented here. They can be downloaded.

I hope you find the material useful.
